Here's how Image Description Agent works for your Shopware 6 store
Image Description Agent uses AI to analyze your store images and generates appropriate alt and title tags—for accessibility and better visibility in Google Image Search. Here’s how to activate it, review the results, and regenerate individual descriptions if needed.
Here's what you should keep in mind after activation
Check Descriptions in the Editor – checks the Alt and Title tags of individual images and lets you regenerate them if necessary.
Check Random Samples in the Store – checks alt and title tags on product pages and reports any issues to us or your agency.
1. Overview
Image Description Agent scans your store via the API, finds images with missing or incomplete alt and title tags, and generates appropriate descriptions using AI. The text is stored in Reqser and imported into your Shopware store—in the default language and, if configured, in your other languages as well.
Automatically
New images will be detected during the next run and assigned alt and title tags.
Can be turned on and off
You can enable or disable the agent in your website's AI settings.
Verifiable
In the image description editor, you can view the generated texts, review them, and, if necessary, have them regenerated individually.
2. Activation
You can enable Image Description Agent in your website’s AI settings. There, you’ll see how many images are missing alt or title tags and what costs may be incurred for the initial data populate.
After activation, Reqser processes your images during the initial populate and subsequently during every regular crawl. From this point on, you manage alt and title tags via Reqser—so do not edit them directly in Shopware, otherwise they may be overwritten during the next crawl.
If desired, Reqser can configure your store so that existing alt and title tags are not overwritten during the first run.
- Go to AI Settings → Image Description Agent to enable or disable the feature.
- Before activation, Reqser displays a cost estimate for the initial fill.
3. Image Description Editor
In the image description editor, you'll see all the images in your store. The alt and title tags are displayed there—direct text editing isn't supported. Instead, you can:
- View alt and title tags for each image
- Have individual images regenerated using AI
- Filter by missing descriptions or errors
You can access the editor through your website's settings menu under Image Descriptions.
