Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to the most important questions about Reqser - from connecting your store to the individual agents.

Connection & integration

Everything about connecting your store with Reqser.

We provide an app and a plugin for the connection, which you can download directly from us and install in your Shopware admin. The app establishes the connection to Reqser and authenticates itself securely via OAuth 2.0 against the standard admin API. The plugin extends the store with its own API routes, which Reqser can use to manage translation tables, redirects and other content - with restricted access and fully secured via admin API authentication. No changes to your store code are necessary.

We provide a separate module for modified eCommerce that you install in your store. The module establishes a secure connection between your modified store and Reqser. Reqser accesses the database tables of your store, automatically recognizes products, categories and other content and translates them. Language files from your store are also recorded and translated.

The technical installation only takes a few minutes. This is followed by 2-3 weeks of onboarding, during which we check your data, adjust the configuration and ensure that everything runs optimally - in close coordination with you or your IT agency.

Yes, all communication between Reqser and your store takes place via encrypted HTTPS connections. API access is configured during the initial setup and can be revoked by you at any time.

Reqser only processes publicly accessible store content such as product, category and CMS texts. Reqser has no access to personal data such as customer data, orders or payment information. This means that its use is harmless under data protection law - no sensitive or customer-related data from your online store is processed.

Translation agent

Questions about the automatic translation of your store content.

The agent regularly checks your store for new and changed content. Texts found are classified according to content type and prepared in a format-specific way. Placeholders, code snippets and non-translatable elements are isolated. DeepL translates with your dictionary and the context from the same product line. OpenAI then checks the structure and corrects errors. Internal links are automatically mapped to foreign-language SEO URLs. The result is transferred directly to your store via API.

We support over 100 languages via DeepL, including all major European and Asian languages. The translations are carried out by DeepL and then checked by OpenAI for structure, HTML integrity and placeholders - a multi-stage quality process.

Each text goes through a multi-stage process: format analysis, placeholder saving, context enrichment from other columns in the same line, dictionary comparison, DeepL translation, OpenAI structure validation and automatic error correction. HTML, template syntax and code placeholders are always retained.

A plugin sends your text to DeepL and writes the result back - without understanding the context, without preserving the structure, without quality control. The Reqser Agent runs through several processing steps per text, recognizes the content type (JSON, HTML, template syntax), protects placeholders, uses your dictionary, enriches with context and lets OpenAI validate the results.

This depends on the set crawling interval. With the default setting "Daily", new and changed content is recognized and translated once a day.

Yes, you can use the translation editor to adapt each translation manually or have it retranslated using the dictionary.

New products are automatically recognized and translated during the next test cycle.

When you create a new dictionary rule, you can directly specify whether existing translations should be retranslated with the new rule. Reqser shows you the number of affected entries and the estimated character costs.

Yes, you can use the exclusions to exclude individual entries or entire tables from the translation. This is useful, for example, if certain areas are already being translated by another system, should remain manually maintained or technical data must be in the original language.

Image description agent

Questions about the automatic generation of alt and title tags.

The agent analyzes your product images using AI and automatically creates meaningful alt and title texts. These texts are important for the accessibility of your store (screen reader) and for the SEO visibility of your images in the Google image search.

Yes, from June 28, 2025, the EAA will require webshops to provide accessible content - this includes meaningful alt texts for all images. The image description agent generates these automatically, helping you to meet the legal requirements.

You can control this yourself. You can choose between three modes: "All images" (replaces all tags), "Missing only" (only adds empty tags) or "Disabled". This gives you full control.

Yes, you can specify whether the product name should be used as the context. This leads to much more precise descriptions - e.g. an image without context is described as "Black electronic device", but with context as "Black Patura P4000 230V electric fence with green front".

The image descriptions are first generated in your main language. The translation agent then automatically translates them into all activated foreign languages - with the same quality assurance as for all other content.
